The August 5, 2020 scheduled meeting of the Women’s Giving Circle of Barry County was not held in person, due to COVID-19, but that did not stop this group from voting on a Barry County nonprofit organization to support. Nancy Goodin, representing the Women’s Giving Circle, noted that “The effect of COVID-19 has impacted nonprofit organizations in significant ways. Our Giving Circle contributions are more important than ever.”
Members voted by email and the chosen nonprofit was the Barry County Humane Society. Carol Mantle, representing the Humane Society, said “I am honored to accept these checks on behalf of the Barry County Humane Society. We are so grateful for the generosity of your membership. We will use these funds to expand the services we offer to the animals of Barry County — and their humans.”
Checks given by Women’s Giving Circle members totaled $6,880.00.
