TNR PROGRAM-BARRY         COUNTY             (TRAP,NEUTER,RETURN)

CALLING ALL FERAL, FREE-ROAMING, BARN,STRAY,COMMUNITY OR UNOWNED CATS IN BARRY COUNTY!!!!

THANKS TO GRANTS FROM PETSMART CHARITIES AND THE BARRY COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY, THESE CATS WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED, EAR TIPPED, GIVEN A RABIES SHOT, AND RETURNED TO WHERE THEY WERE HUMANELY TRAPPED FOR FREE. WE WILL BE OFFERING THIS TO THE TOWNSHIPS OF:

WOODLAND, CARLTON, IRVING, THORNAPPLE, YANKEE SPRINGS, RUTLAND, HASTINGS AND CASTLETON TOWNSHIPS.

IF YOU KNOW OF ANY CAT COLONIES OR ARE FEEDING ANY OF THESE CATS , ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CALL THE BARRY COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER AT

269 948 4885 AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE SURGERY AND THEN HUMANELY TRAP THE CAT(S) AND TAKE THE ANIMAL TO THE SHELTER ON THE DAY SCHEDULED AND THEN PICK IT UP, USUALLY THE SAME DAY, AND THEN RETURN THE CAT(S) TO THE AREA WHERE THEY WERE TRAPPED. TRAPS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE BARRY COUNTY SHELTER OR CALL THE HUMANE SOCIETY AT 269 945 0602.

THIS PROGRAM WILL HELP TO CONTROL THE SERIOUS COMMUNITY PROBLEM OF UNWANTED CATS AND KITTENS. IF WE ARE SUCCESSFUL IN THESE NORTHERN TOWNSHIPS, WE HOPE TO APPLY FOR ANOTHER GRANT SO THAT WE CAN OFFER IT TO THE SOUTHERN TOWNSHIPS.

Join local professional Steve White with your furry (and non-furry) family members for a pet photo session from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13.

 

White will host pet-friendly photo sessions at his studio, located at 120 North Michigan Ave. in Hastings, with proceeds benefitting the Thornapple Arts Council and the Barry County Humane Society spay and neuter program.

 

One professional 5x7 photo with holder will be provided for $15, and other photo packages will be available for purchase. White will work with families to create a set-up that is comfortable for them.

 

Call the Thornapple Arts Council at 269-945-2002 to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are available, but pre-registration is appreciated.
